Judy Pridgen was elected sheriff of Saline County, Arkansas in 1994 (taking office January 1995), becoming the first woman elected sheriff in the history of Arkansas. Saline County, on the southwest edge of the Little Rock metropolitan area, had not previously had a woman in the office. She served three terms before leaving office in early 2007.

Born in Malvern, Arkansas in 1947, Pridgen spent her early career in Saline County law enforcement and rose through the ranks before her 1994 run.
